Calibration

    If you do not have your monitor set correctly some of the colors in the catalog may appear differently than they actually are. This chart will help you set your monitor so it is as close as possible in five easy steps:
    1) You should be able to see a slight difference in color in each square. If you can not, your monitor might not be on true color settings. (See 1 below) Flat (laptop) monitors can usually not see these colors and you should view the site on a normal monitor instead.
    2) Row 13 should be gray, and should be darker than all the other rows. The bottom right square (Z13) should be a very light gray. If these don't appear correctly you need to adjust your brightness. (See 2 below).
    3) Column A should be black. B should be black or you should notice slight color. Column Z should be white or slightly colored, and column Y should have colors. If you don't see this you need to adjust your saturation (See 3 below).
    4) The background and the areas behind the numbers and letters should be white. If they have a color then you need to adjust the color (See 4 below).
    5) Row 3 should be yellow, not greenish or orange at all. Row 7 should be light blue, not greenish or purple at all. If these do not appear correct you need to adjust the color (See 4 below).
    If all this appears correct then your monitor should be fine. If there are problems please go below for instructions on how to fix them.

How to fix it:

    1) Adjusting the color settings: From windows right click on your desktop, but not on any icons, and choose properties. Click on the Settings tab. Colors (lower left) should be set on True Color 32 Bit. If that option is not present your monitor may not be high enough quality to see the site well. High Color 16 but will work, but expect slight discrepancies. If you only have 256 colors you will not be able to see our colors accurately.
    2) Adjusting the Brightness: Box Z13 should be light gray. If it is white you need to lower your brightness. If it is medium to dark gray you need to raise your brightness. The method for changing brightness varies from monitor to monitor. You should have a brightness button on the monitor, or a wheel on the monitor. Push the wheel in and move it around until you can change brightness. Your users manual will help.
    3) Adjusting Saturation: If column Z has easily visible colors you need to lower your saturation until they are almost white. If column Y appears white you need to raise your saturation until you have dim colors, but not so high that column A has colors. The method for changing saturation varies from monitor to monitor. You should have a saturation button on the monitor, or a wheel on the monitor. Push the wheel in and move it around until you can change saturation. Your users manual will help.
    4 and 5) If the colors look off there are several things you can change. If your monitor has a hue setting play with that first. If you can modify individual colors use the guidelines below. Some monitors can not be adjusted and you will need to take the color difference into account when viewing our fabrics or find a better monitor. The method for changing colors varies from monitor to monitor. You should have a color button or buttons on the monitor, or a wheel on the monitor. Push the wheel in and move it around until you can change colors. Your users manual will help.
    Too Red: Lower the red or raise the green.
    Too Yellow: Raise the blue or lower the green.
    Too Green: Lower the green or raise the red.
    Too Blue: Lower the blue.
